Vision: To preserve, conserve, and interpret the material and intangible culture of Samoa

The Museum of Samoa is tasked to safeguard Samoa’s cultural heritage. The Museum houses several artefacts and exhibitions. It conducts educational programs and tours.Staff and volunteers of the museum are a dynamic team of heritage professionals.

The collection depicts the Fa'a Samoa, its history and its tropical environment. It also displays some of the Pacific Islands artifacts. The museum also houses 3,000 year old pottery and stone adze discovered in Samoa. Recent exhibitions have been added and will be seen in the News and Updates page of this site or on facebook.

To visit the museum:
  • Opening hours are 9:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
  • Admission is free.
  • Location: The Museum is located at the Ministry of Education, Sports & Culture compound, Malifa (Cnr Ififi/Vaitele streets) in the old German school building.
The museum is only open on weekdays unless you request with a letter to the address below for admission into the museum on public holidays, Saturdays and/or Sundays.
